Winter is my Season...
Well, I say it over and over again, I'm a Winter Girl.
I may be the Ultimate Winter Girl par excellence!
Why?
Well, I hate heat, the sun pisses me off and the summer is the least flattering season of all. Dull colors (unbelievable how spring, autumn especially, and winter turn the nature around so beautifully). Back to summer. Sweat. No matter how thin your clothes may be, heat will always catch up with you. And boring activities all day long while enduring torturous temperatures, mainly sunbathing only to burn your skin, raise your chances of getting cancer and ultimately PEAL... Pure waste of time.
But the Winter... Aaaah Sweet Winter...

Well first of all, Winter clothes may be the most fashionable items in a closet. We may look fatter in winter clothes, but we definitely look so much more sophisticated and let's face it, damn gorgeous!
Then you've got the rain... Sweet sweet rain. Gotta love the smell of the rain. Always puts me in a good mood.
Of course, snow is the ultimate added-value! First of all, it covers all the disgusting shit everywhere, it's shiny and beautiful, it's soft and cool and most importantly it's snowmen and ball fights! Now that's what I call fun! (Sunbathing... beuuuurk!!) -- note to winter-haters: don't blame winter for the snow melting and turning everything into dirty horror... if winter were to last eternally, everything would look beautiful all year long... but when winter ends, snow ends, and beautiful ends.
Finally, Winter is the Holiday Season.
Yes!
Holidays.
Family.
Love.
And a little bonus called gifts! LOL
Ok, the gifts are the least interesting advantage in all this, and it may be because I live abroad, but come on, family time is golden time! Any excuse to spend a few days back home is always a good excuse!
Holidays = Celebration
And Celebration also = Birthdays at our household. Yes Sir!
Well in chronological order we've got Halloum's birthday which we always celebrate at Christmas along with Jesus' birthday, and my parents' anniversary (and coincidently my paternal grandparents' as well), New Year's which is ABBA time, and we all love ABBA ♫ ♪ Happy New Year ♫ ♪ Happy New Year May we all have our hopes, our will to try. If we don't we might as well lay down and die ♪ ♫ ♪ Then of course, there is Hadhoud & Rabroub's anniversary, followed by my birthday (ah bitter sweet celebration of me getting older and older) swiftly followed by Hadhoud's birthday which always ends January on a cake-y note... Only for Sako to start February by blowing his candles one week before Valentine's which is followed by Vivette's candles' blow the very next day...
Sweet, sweet noustic, I am so sorry you were born in August... (Do you think this is the reason why I hate summer so much? mmmh... I'll Freudalyze myself some other time and we'll get to the bottom of this, don't worry).
January is ending today... That is so sad.
February being the shortest month of the year, Winter will be gone in the blink of an eye...
Why? Oh Why?
And then, back to reality.
Back to the heat of Dubai.
And back to routines.
Well, at least we can always look forward to the next Winter.
Which will be a GRAND WINTER!
Already getting ready to celebrate FIVE YEARS OF MARRIAGE WITH HUBBY.
Yes, Aha.
Five!
But that is for 2010. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Let's focus on 2009, hoping it will be THE year.
Will be busy packing next week...
And then heading back to Dubai.
Bitter Sweet trip.
Always bitter to leave home and my parents -- don't think I'll ever get used to that. It's always tears and kleenex at the airport, even after 5 years! God!
Always sweet to get back to my home, my hubby, my brother and my friends.
Voila! C'est tout pour ce soir... :-)
